Lectel is an expanding consulting engineering firm specialising in design and project management of electrical reticulation, distribution and lighting design, together with telecommunications design throughout Qld and NSW.

Lectel is accredited by both Energex and Ergon Energy to undertake design services and is similarly accredited to design electrical utilities services throughout NSW. We are also on the Telstra National Panel of design contractors. We have carried out hundreds of projects for these clients over the past 12 years and have won multiple awards in this time. We also hold ISO9001:2008 QA accreditation.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Distribution Designer to join our dynamic team in several locations including Brisbane, Rockhampton/Capricorn Coast, Wide Bay, Toowoomba, Central & Northern Qld. Contract and permanent positions are available. This position also offers the opportunity to work on the Overhead NBN design in all the above locations.   

To secure an interview you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

• Significant experience in Electrical Distribution Design
• Eye for quality
• Ability to liaise effectively with clients and staff
• Excellent communication skills
• AD in Electrical Engineering or Cert 4 in Mains Design or equivalent
• CAD, MS Word and Excel literacy
• Hold a current Drivers Licence
• Must be time and deadline focused

The primary duties of this role are:

• Design of Electrical Distribution Networks, both overhead and underground
• Field inspections
• Liaison with clients, utilities and councils
• Design mentoring
• Design reviews
• Managing your own design budgets and timetables
• Reporting to Supervisors
